Licensed interpreter and trained stage actress Stephanie Ford recently entered into professional internship with The HeArd
to serve as our 2013-14 understudy interpreter.  Take a look at some samples of her work here in two delightful American Sign Language translations that she created from "The Lion King"...

What is "Alice in Wonderland"? The story is told in the video below by an energetic student of Cuyahoga Community College's sign language interpreting program.  Stephanie Ford has recently been studying the work of the HeArd in our rehearsals for the upcoming "Alice in Wonderland" (Interpreted performance, February 26 2012 at the Fine Arts Association, Willoughby, Ohio) .  Deaf audience members can access a little preview of the show in her ASL synopsis of the "Alice" story.   Enjoy her telling of the tale, and we hope to see you in Wonderland!

The following video features HeArd interpreter and multi-talented theater professional, Larry Nehring, describing a 2011 play in which he appeared as one of the actors on stage.  Since the small Dobama theater did not have resources to provide a sign-interpreted performance, Larry created this ASL synopsis for a Deaf friend to preview the show.  When we asked Larry if we could post his video here, he offered to re-record it, due to visual noise that had been caused by the unexpected appearance of a friend.  We insisted he leave it as is.
